Our Buccaneer Bash

My little buccaneers turned four this week.

And in their swashbuckling honor, we threw them a buccaneer bash they’ll never forget.

Neither will we I’m afraid…

…Nor will our friends (who, incidentally, are excellent sports).

They endured face paints and sword fights (until of course, the swords were confiscated by Cap’n Red Beard)…

…Costumes and treasure hunts.

But there were some upsides to our festivities as well. Like cupcakes. I know of no pirate strong enough to resist the siren call of butter cream frosting.

…Except this guy (our door greeter)…

…and maybe this Scallywag. (He lost his sweet tooth while snorkeling in Malaysia Borneo and has been looking for it ever since ).

…His shipmates, however, had no problem enjoying their loot…

Even if they are too young to be embarrassed by their pirate party planning parents…yet. When does that become a problem? Hopefully not until after the Wild Wild West party next year.

We love you with a never-ending love, Zach and Jonah!  Happy fourth birthday me ‘earties!

“Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me.
We pillage plunder, we rifle and loot.
Drink up me ‘earties, yo ho.
We kidnap and ravage and don’t give a hoot.
Drink up me ‘earties, yo ho.”
