Melissa Deming is a freelance writer who recently transplanted from Texas to Pennsylvania with her husband of ten years, Jonathan, and two-year-old identical twins, Zacharias and Jonah. Melissa is a regular correspondent for The Southern Baptist TEXAN newspaper and Crossroads magazine of the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention. She served as managing editor of the TEXAN for two years before relocating with her husband to Beijing, China.
Melissa’s time in China solidified her commitment to faith in Jesus Christ, a process that began with the love and guidance of her parents and sisters and led her to complete a Masters of Divinity in Women’s Studies from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2008. Convinced that the Word of God is transformative and speaks across time and culture, Melissa has authored and led three women’s Bible Studies at University Baptist Church in San Antonio.
Melissa also has a B.A. in Journalism from Texas A&M University.
About the website: MelissaDeming.com is a place to enjoy the sweet life – a life rich with the blessings of family, faith, and friends. The site is also the home of my Bible studies – a place users can find lesson summaries, resources, book reviews, and the occasional book giveaway.
About the links: Many of links on the site direct you to Amazon.com or other affiliate outlets. That means that if you purchase one of our recommended resources through one of my link, then I will receive a (very) small percentage of the sale. However, my affiliate status does not compromise my opinion or reviews of books and/or products.
About the logo: Melissa means Honey Bee and is attached to the verse Ps. 119:103: “How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!” (NKJV). Because of my love for the Word of God and the joy I receive from a life of faith and family, life couldn’t be any sweeter.
